My Background
Professional experience of Joanna Chisholm
1981- : Freelance editor and project manager. Initially working
principally on general non-fiction books. Since 1989, I have
expanded into DTP and project management.
1976-1981: Mitchell Beazley. Editor, then senior editor, producing
general non-fiction books and supervising and liaising with a
team of editors, researchers and designers.
1975-1976: Almark Publishing Co Ltd, New Malden. I mainly
commissioned books on transport history, I also had to design
and paste up the books, liaise with artists, cartographers,
typesetters and printers during all stages of production and
arrange publicity.
1971-1975: Eyre Methuen, general division of Associated Book
Publishers. I began as a secretary/editorial assistant, and was
promoted to assistant editor working mainly on reference
and travel books.
